Blue Tree Cafe's Cleanse: Day 3

For the third day, I had Set A again and the first drink was super easy to drink. I seriously think that they did the first day wrong. Anyways, I'm glad to say, I'm D-O-N-E. How do I feel? Hm… I'm ok. I don't have a scale at home, so I don't know if I lost any weight, but I did fit into a dress I wasn't able to fit 2 years ago. One friend that did it with me lost 4 lbs., and the other friend lost 6.5 lbs. So I guess it's good for weight loss too. In addition, one kicked the caffeine addiction. Great for him. Overdose on caffeine can't possibly be good. 

Would I do it again? Hm… maybe once a year to flush out my system? 

Blue Tree Cafe's Cleanse: Day 2

I survived Day 2 of this cleanse. Here's what I had today. 

Set B

#1 Lemon, Water, Maple Syrup, Cayenne

#2 Kale, Spinach, Cucumber, Parsley, Lemon, Ginger

#3 Carrot, Celery, Spinach, Apple, Lemon, Lime, Cinnamon

#4 Pear, Celery, Lime, Basil

#5 Carrot, Beet, Ginger, Apple

#6 Kombucha w/ Chia

I seriously think that whoever made yesterday's batch did it wrong because today's #1 was so much more milder. The cayenne pepper didn't burn at each sip and I was actually able to finish it rather quickly. #2 wasn't too bad either. Actually, overall, aside from #6, it was totally doable. 

So, aside from being a bit hungry, the juices were easy on the palate. I still crave food-food. Especially because I had to sit in front of my friend while he ate an açai bowl. 

And if this cleanse is suppose to last 3 days. Does that mean at the stroke of midnight on Saturday, I'm free to eat food? Hm...

Blue Tree Cafe's Cleanse: Day 1

I really don't know what possessed me to start this cleanse, but I decided to do Blue Tree Cafe's 3-day cleanse. I wish it was really only 3-days, but it actually starts off with a week of clean eating. So that's no refined sugar, no processed foods, no caffeine, and no alcohol for 7 days. Then, it's the 3-day juice cleanse. 

They have different levels. It's not labeled, this way, but basically it's beginner, intermediate, advanced, and for athletes. My friend convinced me that since I eat fairly clean on a daily basis (90% vegan at home and only eat seafood/dairy outside of the house), that I should just jump into the advanced cleanse. Bad idea. 

The advanced cleanse is called, Alkaline. I had set A today. 

Set A

#1 Lemon, Water, Maple Syrup, Cayenne

#2 Kale, Spinach, Cucumber, Parsley, Lemon, Ginger

#3 Carrot, Celery, Spinach, Apple, Lemon, Lime, Cinnamon

#4 Pear, Mint, Kale, Ginger, Cucumber

#5 Turmeric, Pear, Apple, Beet, Celery

#6 Kombucha w/ Chia

First off, #1 was HORRIBLE. Since it has cayenne, it burns. It took me a while to finish it. #2 didn't taste so well either. #3 reminded me of curry. #4 wasn't great, but wasn't bad. #5 had a really funky flavor. #6 is sour. 

To top it all off, today's lunch was at 53 By the Sea. It's a really nice, fancy restaurant. Of course I didn't eat a thing. I just drank #3, while I stared at my mom and friends eating a crab sandwich. I LOVE CRAB…. so, that was torture. Then, today was my last class for day care/preschool training so they had a potluck. Everyone was raving about how good the food tasted. It smelled REALLY good. Apparently the banana lumpia was a hit. I really wanted one. Too bad, I just sat and drank #5. 

I just keep telling myself that it's only 3 days out of the year. Heck, I'm going on an Alaskan cruise! I'm going to eat the REAL, FRESH CRAB! Ahhhhhh 2 more days. I can do it.
